The program is an eclectic collection of songs with lots of familiar, singable numbers for your enjoyment that are guaranteed to leave you with a smile on your face, a spring in your step and song on your lips. There will be reception following the show fully hosted by the Meisenheimer Trust. Everyone loves anniversaries, and this is your invitation to attend the 20th year celebration of the Catalinas Community Chorus. In 2006, Ms. Cyndee Chaffee., Director of Music at Resurrection Lutheran Church, recognized the need for an organization dedicated to the furthering of school music programs in the Tucson area. With several friends, she founded the Catalinas Community Chorus, a chorus dedicated to filling that need. The first rehearsal had 50. Cyndi asked each person in attendance to bring one person with them to the next rehearsal, and the chorus responded with over 100 coming the next week. Since Catalinas Community Chorus' purpose is to raise money for school music programs, we are grateful to see public support expand to levels never envisioned. In the past two years, we have donated $16,000 to schools in Northwest Tucson. Since our inception in 2006, we have donated more than $35,000 to area schools. Our unofficial goal for this year is to give gifts of $10,000 to our local schools. None of this would have been possible if not for the generosity of our donors and supporters.
