Description

Explore the themes of the exhibition "Hyphen American: Intersections of Identity" through an ekphrastic writing exercise led by Karen Shoemaker, director of Larksong Writers Place. Participants will spend time looking closely at selected artworks, reflecting on what they see, what it means to them, and how those impressions can spark a poem, story, or brief memoir. Guided exercises will introduce the practice of writing in response to visual art, helping attendees move from careful observation to expressive language.
